Who actually puts the IV in?
A registered nurse. Your nurse places the IV, administers your infusion, and stays with you for the entire visit.
Does the telehealth consult cost extra?
No. Before your visit, a licensed provider meets with you by telehealth to review your health history and confirm your therapy. The consult is included in the $299.
Where do you go, and is there a travel fee?
Based in Redwood City, we serve 12 towns across the Peninsula: Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont, San Mateo, Foster City, Atherton, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Stanford, Woodside, and Portola Valley. There is no travel fee within our 8-mile core service area. Appointments 8 to 12 miles out may be accommodated for a $30 travel fee, subject to availability, and any fee is confirmed before your visit.
What if I develop new symptoms before my appointment?
Contact Aura before your visit if you develop a fever, persistent vomiting, worsening symptoms, or other significant changes in your health. Your licensed medical provider will determine whether treatment remains appropriate or should be postponed. Aura does not replace urgent or emergency medical care.
Does it hurt? I don't love needles.
Most people feel a brief pinch with IV placement. If needles make you nervous, let us know before your visit, and your nurse will take extra care to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
